Manalapan Teen Breaks Into Homes In Secaucus, Police Say

The teen is 17 years old, so his name was not released by police. He was arrested alongside a 14-year-old youth from Jersey City.

MANALAPAN, NJ — A local Manalapan teenager was arrested last Monday after police say he committed a string of burglaries in North Jersey, breaking into homes and garden sheds in Secaucus.

The teen is 17 years old, so his name was not released by police. He was arrested alongside a 14-year-old youth from Jersey City. Police say on Jan. 24, during the daylight hours, the duo entered one home and six sheds and garages on Maple Street in Secaucus. That's Maple Street pictured above.

Some of the sheds had been left unlocked. One of the teens drove off in a motorbike, and the other drove off in a car. They also took cash and jewelry from the residences, police said.

The Jersey City teen was found with the motorbike that same day, Jan. 24. The Manalapan teen was wanted by Secaucus police, and he was arrested last Monday, Jan. 29. He was already wanted on an outstanding warrant in Monmouth County. They were charged with seven counts of burglary and six counts of theft.

Both boys were taken to the Union County Correctional Center, which houses juveniles arrested in Hudson County.
