Manalapan Township To Waive Fees For Generator Installation
Residents will be able to evade the generator installation fee in the township until Oct. 5, according to a new ordinance.
MANALAPAN, NJ - The Manalapan Township Committee adopted an ordinance to temporarily waive generator installation fees in light of Tropical Storm Isaias. The ordinance, which was adopted at an Aug. 4 meeting, waives fees until Oct. 5.
Mayor Jack McNaboe noted that, while permits must be obtained during the window of March 16 through Oct. 31 to qualify for the fee waiver, the generator itself does not have to be installed during that period.
Additional fees associated with the installation of a generator will still apply, according to the mayor.

“The Township Committee further finds that it would be appropriate, for a limited period of time, in order to provide an additional incentive to its residents and business owners to install generators, to waive the Township portion of Construction Code and Uniform Fire Code fees for the installation of generators at Township homes and businesses.”
