Mercedes Stolen From Manalapan Driveway, Found In East Orange
A Mercedes parked in a Manalapan driveway with the keys inside was stolen Monday, Sept. 24, and recovered just hours later in East Orange.

MANALAPAN, NJ — A Mercedes that had been parked in a Manalapan driveway with the keys inside was stolen last Monday, Sept. 24, and recovered just hours later in East Orange.
It was a black 2014 Mercedes S55 and the owner said he left the key fob inside the vehicle, police said.
Manalapan police were called to a home on Applegate Terrace at 3 a.m. last Monday, Sept. 24. The homeowner said he discovered the car was gone, and thinks it was stolen from his driveway sometime between 10:00 p.m. the previous night and 2:00 a.m. that morning.

East Orange police had recovered the car in their jurisdiction within hours of its disappearance and they were also on scene at the home at 3 a.m. Monday. East Orange police took possession of the vehicle until it could be processed for evidence and returned to the registered owner.
Luxury cars being stolen in Monmouth County is not a new phenomenon. The cars that are stolen often have been left unlocked in driveways with the key fobs inside.
