‘We Love What We Do’: Monmouth County Brothers Launch Men’s Grooming Brand

After years behind the barber shop chair, these local brothers have started their own grooming brand that aims to empower men.

MANALAPAN, NJ — After years of experience cutting hair along the Jersey Shore, two Monmouth County brothers have launched their own grooming business that aims to empower men.

Ed and Andrew Evilsizor, who are both natives of the Manalapan area, first started cutting hair in their garage before opening Evil Fades Barbershop in Millstone over a decade ago.

What started as a passion between the siblings soon grew into a career and a family-centric business that’s since allowed them to start their own brands.

“The shop is about five minutes from where we grew up, right off Route 33,” Andrew Evilsizor said in an interview with Patch. “We’ve been cutting hair since then and have a great crew over there. Our mom is at the front desk, so we’ve got that family-feel, neighborhood vibe.”

Following their years of experience behind the barber shop chair, the siblings launched Two Brothers Grooming about five months ago, which offers “premium men’s grooming essentials crafted by working barbers.”

Currently, Two Brothers is selling products ranging from Sea Salt Spray to Texture Powder, though Evilsizor said they also offer on-site services for weddings, special events, golf outings and more.

“Anything for a group of guys who want to have a professional grooming experience,” Evilsizor said. “Could be a cigar event, wedding, any special occasion like that.”

According to their website, those on-site services range from wedding grooming to haircuts, beard cleanup and more.

The brothers also offer styling consultations alongside their product line.

“We built this based off a stronger meaning behind ‘two brothers,’ and we’re really trying to grow,” Evilsizor said. “There’s a lot of experience we have behind the barber’s chair, which helps us to know exactly what customers are looking for, what they need, and how the products work and what kind of finished look they provide.”

While Two Brothers is based in Monmouth County, Evilsizor said they can go wherever a customer may need them for their services.

In the past, he’s helped NFL and NBA players and even traveled to different states to offer grooming services.

“My customers are great; they’ve been with me for a while, and whatever I build, they always look forward to it,” he told Patch. “They trust and rely on me for these services and products, so it’s awesome to have them experience that growth from start to finish.”

In addition to Two Brothers, Andrew Evilsizor also has another, solo product line called “Andrew James” that’s more geared towards hair styling pomades.

Going forward, he and his brother said they’re hoping to continue their growth into the e-commerce world with Two Brothers Grooming, and continue following their passions.

“We love what we do,” he told Patch. “And it always helps when you love what you do every day at work.”
