MANALAPAN, NJ — A 29-year-old man from Manalapan Township was killed in a three-car crash Tuesday night in central California, according to a local report there.

The 29-year-old man, originally from Manalapan, was driving a Honda Civic on Highway 46 east in Shandon, California when his car drifted into oncoming traffic. He collided with another Honda Civic, and he was ejected from the car. The Manalapan man sustained fatal injuries as a result of blunt force trauma, according to the Paso Robles Daily News. California State Highway Patrol said they did not know why he drifted into oncoming traffic. Neither drugs nor alcohol are suspected in causing the crash.

The accident happened at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday. The 66-year-old woman driving the other Civic, from Cayucos, Calif., suffered a broken leg, ankle and ribs. Her car was then hit by a 2008 Toyota Prius driven by a 35-year-old Pasco, Washington man. He was not badly hurt.
