Alfonso Murcia, 88, of Manalapan, passed away on Monday, Sept. 3, 2012 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Colombia, he lived in Matawan before moving to Manalapan 20 years ago. He also resides in The Villages in Florida during the winter months. Alfonso was a mechanical engineer for Old Bridge Chemicals before retiring.
He was predeceased by his wife, Kathryn earlier this year. He is survived by his children, Elisabet Gomez and Gladys Galvis, both of Bogota, Colombia, Luz Marina Quiroga, Heidy Seeman, Hoffman Murcia and Ed Murcia, all of New Jersey.
Family and friends are invited to visit today from 4 to 7 PM, at , 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11 AM on Thursday, at , Manalapan. Interment will be private.
