Evelyn Dotson, 99, of Manalapan, died on January 26, 2012, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Born in Brooklyn, she lived in Queens before moving to Manalapan 12 years ago. She was a communicant of St. Veronica’s Roman Catholic Church, Howell. Evelyn was a clerk typist for the City of New York for many years before retiring.
She was predeceased by her husband, George, in 1992, and siblings, Fred Emptage, Albert Lewis, Inez Emptage and Ralph Lewis. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Lester Sr. and Barbara Owens; seven grandchildren, Lester, Michael, Angel and Kelly Owens and Doreen, Jay and Mark Thaxton; and 19 great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, Jan. 29, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the , 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, Jan. 30, at 9 a.m., at St. Veronica’s Church, Howell. Interment will follow at Pinelawn Cemetery, Pinelawn, NY.
