Obituary: Harriet Wiener, 89
Wiener celebrated her 65th wedding anniversary with her husband this past May.

Harriet K. Wiener, 89, of , New Jersey, passed away on December 17th, 2011. She was born in Jersey City and previously lived in North Caldwell for 31 years. Harriet and her husband Bernard formerly lived in Hampton and Newport News, Virginia, as well as Bellport, New York.
Harriet studied bookkeeping at John Marshall College and worked in metal reclamation during World War II. During the war, Harriet also served as an active volunteer with NSWC, National Security Women's Corps, manning bond sales, service clubs, and ration boards.
After raising her children, Harriet worked as a vendor adjustor in the main office of Channel Home Centers. She retired as the controller for a major bankruptcy law firm in Millburn, New Jersey.

Harriet enjoyed traveling the world with her surviving husband, Bernard Wiener, with whom she celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary, this past May. Harriet was a lover of all animals and nature. She had many interests and hobbies including gardening, reading, puzzles, playing the piano, art, and caring for her ever-growing family.
Harriet was predeceased by her two sisters; Beatrice Leiderman, of Fair Lawn and Pearl Adelman, of Ridgefield. Surviving is her husband, Bernard Wiener, three, devoted children: Mark and his wife Ronnie, of Rockaway, Beverly and her husband Marshall Weinstein, of West Orange, and Myles and his wife Mindy, of Manalapan; her grandchildren, Jason Kopp and wife Danielle, Adam Weinstein and wife Sarah, Stephanie Miller and husband Neil, Rachel Weinstein, and Casey, Chelsea, and Cody Wiener; as well as two great-grandchildren Brayden and Quinn Kopp. She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews.
