
Marcella Eccleston, 89, of Manalapan, died on Thursday, February 23, 2012, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Born in Ireland, she lived on Staten Island for 40 years before moving to Manalapan 20 years ago.
She was a communicant of , Manalapan, and a former communicant of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Staten Island, and an active member of their Altar Rosary Society. Marcella loved to knit and was
well known for her delicious Irish soda bread.
She was predeceased by her husband, James, in 1988. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Patricia of Rahway, and Brendan and Eileen of Manalapan; her daughter, Kathleen Eccleston of Somerset; and four grandchildren, Lauren, Megan, James and Kevin Jr.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the
, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan.
A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas
More Church, Manalapan. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Staten
