MANALAPAN, NJ — One person was killed in a motor vehicle accident on Tennent Road near Rt. 522 in Manalapan Wednesday afternoon, Manalapan police report. Rt. 522 was severely backed up for hours yesterday from Wemrock Road to Tennent Road due to the fatal crash. The identity and gender of the person killed has not been released yet pending notification of next of kin, Manalapan police said. The accident occurred at approximately noon, Sept. 13. The one-car crash resulted in the driver, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, being transported to Centra State Medical Center. The driver was subsequently pronounced deceased at the hospital. Patrolman Kevin Ruditsky, Patrolman Jennie Rae Hensley, Patrolman Anthony Cascella, Sergeant Robert Kelly, and Sergeant Robert Herring responded to the scene. The crash is currently under investigation by Manalapan Township Traffic Safety Officers, Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis and Patrolman Matthew Meyler.
