Prosecutor: Two Holmdel Residents Arrested On Drug Charges

Authorities say the investigation began in January after a man was found on the lawn of a Holmdel home, suffering from a heroin overdose.

In January, a man was found on the lawn of a Telegraph Hill Road home in Holmdel, suffering from a heroin overdose, authorities said.

The discovery launched an investigation, and authorities announced Monday that two Holmdel residents have been arrested on drug charges.

On Feb. 18, investigators executed a search warrant at 16 Telegraph Hill Road, where they seized 50 packets of heroin, hypodermic syringes and a knife, according to Monday’s news release from acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.

Christopher J. Dios, 27, of Telegraph Hill Road, and Alyssa D. Morkevich, 23, of Durant Avenue, were arrested by detectives from the Bayshore Narcotics Task Force of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and Holmdel police.

Dios was charged with conspiracy to distribute heroin, and three counts each of possession of heroin, possession with intent to distribute, and distribution of heroin. He was also charged with possession of a weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of hypodermic syringes.

Morkevich is charged with conspiracy to distribute heroin, and two counts each of possession of heroin, possession with intent to distribute and distribution. She is also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of hypodermic syringes.

Both are being held at the Monmouth County jail, Freehold Township. Dios’ bail is set at $100,000; Morkevich’s bail is set at $60,000.

Callers to Crime Stoppers remain anonymous and are eligible to receive a cash reward if the information given leads to the arrest and prosecution of a suspect or fugitive, according to the prosecutor’s office.

Monmouth County Assistant Prosecutor Michael Costanzo, of the Office’s Narcotics and Criminal Enterprises Section, is handling the state’s case.
