Residential Fire Leaves 1 Dead In Covered Bridge Development

MANALAPAN, NJ - A residential fire in Manalapan left one male dead on Wednesday evening, authorities said.

On Oct. 28 around 6:21 p.m., the Manalapan Police Department and Gordon’s Corner Fire Department responded to a call at 9 Pine Cluster Circle in the Covered Bridge senior living development.

At the scene, officials found a self-extinguished fire and the remains of an older male.

The male was found deceased, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed. The identity of the male was not made public as of Thursday afternoon.

The cause of death is currently under investigation. The origin of the fire is under investigation by the Monmouth County Fire Marshal’s Office.
