ENGLISHTOWN, NJ — The Historic Village Inn will be the site of docent-led tours on Sunday, Aug. 21, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Located at the corner of Water and Main streets in Englishtown, the Inn is dedicated to preserving history from the 18th century and the time of the Battle of Monmouth, which took place on Monmouth Battlefield in Manalapan.

The Inn's docents host tours the third Sunday of every month, said Marie J Miczák, a representative for the historic group.

Docents in period attire bring Revolutionary War times to life with stories, exhibits and local excavated artifacts. Village Inn was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972, said Miczák.

A requested donation is $3 for adults. Children under age 12 are admitted free. There is also an on-site gift shop.
