Road Rage Incident Occurred In Manalapan Dec. 12

Tailgating on Conmack Lane led to two drivers getting out of their cars and one of them punching the other driver's window, breaking it.

MANALAPAN, NJ — A road rage incident occurred in Manalapan last Wednesday that resulted in two drivers, a 59-year-old Manalapan man and a 22-year-old Helmetta man, getting out of their cars and one of them punching and breaking the other's window.

The incident occurred last Wednesday, Dec. 12 at approximately 4 p.m., according to Manalapan police: The two cars were on Conmack Lane, and they continued onto Taylor’s Mills Road, where the dispute took place.

One driver was tailgating the other and once they got onto Taylor's Mills Road, the driver of the first vehicle stopped and got out. An argument ensued, and the driver that was being tailgated punched and broke the passenger’s side window of the other person’s vehicle, police said.

The Helmetta driver reported his vehicle had sustained damage caused by the Manalapan resident. However, the older Manalapan man reported being assaulted by the Helmetta resident.

They both reported the incident after it happened at Manalapan police headquarters, and after speaking with police, neither man decided to pursue criminal complaints.
