Someone is spray painting parked cars in Manalapan, with at least three different incidents reported to police this past Sunday.

MANALAPAN, NJ — Be warned: Someone is spray painting parked cars in Manalapan, with at least three different incidents reported to police this past Sunday.

The incidents were all reported this past Sunday, Jan. 27 and all occurred in the same neighborhood of Kipling Way, Thoreau Drive and Greenleaf Drive, a subdivision of high-end single-family homes. The person is spray painting parked cars with gold spray paint.

The spray paint was similarly discovered by all three homeowners around 1 p.m. Sunday, but police think the spray painting could have been done anytime on Friday or Saturday nights: The first homeowner on Greenleaf Drive called police at 1:02 p.m. Sunday to report that his parked car had been painted. The second homeowner on Thoreau Drive called 911 at 1:28 p.m. when he discovered it and the third homeowner on Kipling Way called police at 2 p.m. to report it.

However, police think that the vandalism could have been done anytime between Friday, Jan. 25 and Sunday afternoon. All the cars had been parked in the street.

There were no words written on the vehicle, only gold spray painted lines, said Manalapan police.
