SUV Stolen Out Of Manalapan Driveway Sunday
It happened again: An unlocked Jeep Grand Cherokee was stolen from a Manalapan driveway sometime before dawn Sunday.

MANALAPAN, NJ — It happened again: An unlocked white 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee was stolen from a Manalapan driveway in the pre-dawn hours of Sunday morning, police report.
The owner called the police at 5 a.m. Sunday morning, Jan. 28, to report it missing. He said the car was stolen at approximately 4:20 a.m. that morning, indicating he may have heard it being driven away.
The vehicle had been left unlocked with the key fob inside.

Unfortunately, the theft of unlocked cars is not uncommon in Manalapan: A string of wealthy, rural Monmouth County towns, including Manalapan, Holmdel and Colts Neck, were hit by a ring of luxury car thieves this past fall.

The stolen cars are usually taken to the Elizabeth container port, and from there shipped to West Africa. Having the key fob is critical to their resale value.
