Terroristic Threats, Fraud, Assault: Manalapan PD Blotter

MANALAPAN, NJ — Released by Manalapan police and unedited by Patch, all crimes and arrests from April 13-19.
On Wednesday, April 13, at 8:32 a.m., a 35-year-old Manalapan resident reported that an unknown suspect stole the gas cap from a 2021 Ford pickup truck between 12:40 a.m. and 1:05 a.m. on April 13, 2022 while parked at a Sweetman’s Lane residence. The gas cap was valued at approximately $20.00. Patrolman James Joiner handled the report.
On Wednesday, April 13, at approximately 10:15 a.m., an employee of Home Sense, located at 55 U.S. Highway 9 south in Manalapan, reported that on April 8, 2022, two suspects identified as black males, wearing face masks, entered the business and stole $949.98 worth of merchandise. Patrolman Hayden Hrymack handled the report, which is pending further investigation.

On Wednesday, April 13, at approximately 6:40 p.m., employees of the Justin Corporate Center, located at 200 US Highway 9 north, reported that a subject, described as a white male, had entered the business and damaged multiple offices and items. The suspect subsequently fled on foot to 198 U.S Highway 9 north, where he committed additional acts of criminal mischief. The subsequent investigation identified the suspect as Michael P. McDonald, 21- year-old, unmarried, male resident of Manalapan, who is employed as a tire technician. Mr. McDonald was placed under arrest after being located at a Manalapan residence on Thursday, April 14, 2022. He was subsequently transported to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where he was
processed and released after being issued summonses for burglary and criminal mischief. Patrolman Everett McNulty was the initial responding officer and Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis was the arresting officer.
On Wednesday, April 13, at 10:21 p.m., Jason Alvarez, 50-year-old, married, male resident of Millstone, who is employed as an electrical engineer, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated after being involved in a motor vehicle crash at 360 Route 33 in Manalapan. Mr. Alvarez was placed under arrest and transported to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where he was
processed and subsequently charged with Refusal to Submit to a Breathalyzer, Careless Driving, and Reckless Driving. Mr. Alvarez was subsequently released after being issued summonses. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident. Patrolman Ryan Brady was the arresting officer.

On Thursday, April 14, at approximately 10:30 p.m., a 28-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported that an unknown subject used a Craig’s List advertisement for a home rental that did not belong to them, and fraudulently accepted $1,400.00 as rent. Patrolman Christopher Schou handled the report, which is pending further investigation.
On Saturday, April 16, at approximately 7:30 p.m., a 52-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported that an unknown subject(s) utilized a Facebook Marketplace name to defraud the victim of $200.00. Patrolman Christopher Schou handled the report, which is pending further investigation.
On Sunday April 17, at approximately 3:39 a.m., a 38-year-old Brooklyn, New York resident reported being assaulted by a 32-year-old Manalapan resident at a Willow Grove Way residence. The case is pending the signing of criminal complaints. Patrolman James Guarino handled the report.
On Sunday, April 17, at approximately 11:00 a.m., a 55-year-old Marlboro resident reported that an unknown actor(s) forced entry to Smoke Ringz, located at 345 US Route 9 south, and removed various items. The estimated value of the stolen merchandise is unknown at this time. Patrolman Everett McNulty handled the report, which is pending further investigation.
On Sunday, April 17, at approximately 12:00 p.m., employees of Panera Bread, located at 31 U.S Highway 9 south, reported that an unknown actor attempted to fraudulently utilize a 42-year-old Astoria, New York resident’s credit card information to make a purchase totaling $37.70. No monetary loss was reported as a result of this incident.
On Sunday, April 17, at approximately 7:33 p.m., a 67-year-old Manalapan resident reported being threatened by a 47-year-old Manalapan resident on Chestnut Hill Drive. No complaints were signed as a result of this incident. Patrolman Jeremy Slad handled the report.
On Monday, April 18, at approximately 10:05 a.m., an employee of the Manalapan Township Recreation Center, located at 95 Freehold Road, reported that on Saturday, April 16, 2022, an unknown subject(s) damaged a storage shed and PVC electrical pipe located in the park. Patrolman Bart Mattaliano handled the report.
On Tuesday, April 19, at approximately 8:51 a.m., a 21-year-old Manalapan resident reported a theft of $170.00 from a wallet that occurred at a Wilson Avenue residence. Patrolman Christopher Schou handled the report, which is pending further investigation.
On Tuesday, April 19, at approximately 1:15 p.m., a 23-year-old Manalapan resident reported being harassed by a gas station employee on US Highway 9, on April 12, 2022. No complaints were signed as a result of this incident. Patrolman Hayden Hrymack handled the report.
On Tuesday, April 19, at approximately 7:20 p.m., a 41-year-old Manalapan resident reported being harassed by a 57-year-old Manalapan resident. No complaints were signed as a result of this incident. Patrolman Everett McNulty handled the report.
