Manalapan Police reported seven theft-related incidents from Jan. 21 through Jan. 26.
MANALAPAN, NJ — Manalapan Police reported incidents of theft, assault, harassment and more from Jan. 21 through Jan. 26.
Jan. 21
A 73-year-old Manalapan resident reported that their gold necklace was missing, which they believed was stolen. The victim reported that the item is valued at approximately $900.
A 25-year-old Manalapan resident reported that they were scammed out of $500 through a fake online job posting. The victim reported that they sent two $250 Zelle payments to the fake company to purchase equipment needed for the job.

Jan. 22
A 37-year-old Lakewood resident reported that while in Manalapan, they mistakenly transferred money to an unknown phone number in the amount of $1,000. The accused is refusing to return the money to the victim. The initial report is pending further investigation.
A 55-year-old Manalapan resident reported that a diamond necklace, valued at $10,662.50, was taken from a jewelry box located inside the victim’s home on an unknown date.

A 26-year-old Manalapan resident reported fraud after someone opened a Verizon account in the victim’s name. The victim did not authorize the creation of this account and suffered no monetary loss.
Jan. 23
An 80-year-old Manalapan resident reported that their front license plate was missing from their vehicle. The resident believed that the license plate was possibly stolen from another jurisdiction, and was unsure how long the license plate had been missing. At this time, it’s unknown if the license plate was stolen or if it became detached from the vehicle.
A 47-year-old Manalapan resident reported that their purse was stolen from inside their parked vehicle. The vehicle was parked in front of a business on Gordons Corner Road when the theft occurred. The total loss is valued at $640. The initial report is pending further investigation.
Jan. 25
A 43-year-old Manalapan resident reported that unknown people have been harassing them on social media and contacting them via a private number.
A 42-year-old Middletown resident reported being shoved while delivering food to a Manalapan resident. The victim did not wish to further pursue the incident at this time.
Jan. 26
A 33-year-old Manalapan resident reported that $810 was stolen from the victim’s home at an unknown time and date. The initial report is pending further investigation.
