Theft at Manalapan Restaurant, Employee Says

An employee at Mom's Golden Griddle says someone stole her watch; a car theft on Amberly Drive and other police blotter news.

MANALAPAN, NJ - An employee of a local restaurant in Manalapan Township reported that someone stole her watch while she was working there.

At 6:28 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, Township police patrols responded to the Mom’s Golden Griddle restaurant located on Rt. 9 in Manalapan for a theft report. An 18-year-old female Manalapan resident reported that her Movado women’s watch was stolen while working at the restaurant, police said. The watch is described as black in color, with gold hands, and is valued at $1,090. This case is pending further investigation. Patrolman Brian Schank handled the report.

On Tuesday, December 28 at approximately 12:48 a.m., a 46-year-old male Jackson Township resident reported that his vehicle, a 2000 black Pontiac Grand Prix valued at approximately $2,000, was stolen while parked on Amberly Drive. Patrolman Christopher Makwinski handled the report with the case is pending further investigation.

Two employees at the Valero Gas on Rt. 9 South got into a verbal dispute on Friday, December 30 at 3:05 got into an argument and the police were called. The dispute resulted in a minor physical altercation. There were no arrests.

At approximately 8:20 p.m. on New Year's Day patrols responded to the area of State Highway 33 in the area of the Knob Hill Country Lanes for a report of an intoxicated subject parked on the curb. A 53-year-old Manalapan man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, driving with a suspended driver’s license and other charges.
