Thefts at Manalapan Wegman's, Englishtown Auction: Manalapan Police Blotter

MANALAPAN, NJ - A trio from South Carolina were caught trying to steal more than $3,000 worth of cosmetics from the Manalapan Wegman's Saturday, according to local police.

The three people — George Foster, 34, a tow truck driver; Renee Jones, 34, unemployed and Robert Brown, 19, unemployed, all of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina — were stopped by a Wegman's loss prevention officer at 3:40 p.m. Saturday after they were caught trying to remove a total of $3,172.85 in cosmetic merchandise, police said.

All three were taken to Manalapan police headquarters, where they were issued summonses and released pending future court dates.

A Manalapan resident, 58, reported incidents of harassment, theft and vandalism at the feral cat shelter on Pinebrook Road Saturday. The Manalapan resident reported that a former employee of the shelter vandalized and stole her property. The suspect is a 44-year-old female resident of Old Bridge Township. The victim also reported that the subject has been harassing her and attempting to discredit her organization.

A Staten Island resident, 54, reported a theft from his business, M & D Jewelers, at the Englishtown Auction on Wilson Avenue in Manalapan Township on Saturday evening. An unknown actor removed a tray of 14-karat gold charms from the display case and fled the area on foot. The gold charms were valued at $2,500.
