Burglars are getting inside through unlocked first-floor windows and targeting homes during the daytime when residents are away, police say.

MANALAPAN, NJ — Police are investigating two Manalapan home burglaries that occurred earlier this August as possibly connected.
Both homes were broken into within 24 hours of each other and in both cases, the burglars got inside through an unlocked first-floor window.
The first break-in occurred on Friday, August 9 at a home on Citation Lane. The homeowner told police they were gone all day and that sometime between 10:20 a.m. and 10:30 p.m., an unknown actor gained entry to the residence through an unlocked window and removed cash and jewelry.
