Volunteer Advocates Needed For Domestic Violence Response Teams

180 Turning Lives Around will be conducting it's annual Fall DVRT (Domestic Violence Response Team) 40 Hr Training course starting October 14th through November 6th, 2014, Tues/Wed/Thurs evenings,  6p-9p.  The DVRT advocates are civilian members of the community who are trained to work in collaboration with local law enforcement throughout Monmouth County to assist victims of domestic violence during their time of crisis.  The trained volunteer advocates provide emotional support, local resouces and options that are availalbe to victims.  Identities of the advocates are kept anonymous.  Requirements are must be 18 yrs of age and older, have access to reliable transportation/valid drivers license, submit to a background investigation, fingerprinting and able to complete the mandatory 40 hr training.  Prior knowledge of domestic violence not required, Bi-lingual volunteers also needed.  For more information or application contact Tina Morgan, Asst Victim Support Program Coord.
