Wallet Theft At Manalapan Library Reported

A patron reported that someone went through their belongings last week and stole cash. There was also a break-in on Pension Hill Road.

MANALAPAN, NJ — Be alert if you frequent the Monmouth County library headquarters in Manalapan: A patron reported that someone went through their belongings last week and stole cash as well as their credit cards. In an unrelated incident, a home on Pension Hill Road was also broken into.

The incident happened last Thursday at one o'clock in the afternoon, Manalapan police said. A 24-year-old Manalapan resident said they were using the library, left their belongings for a short period of time and when they returned they found approximately $100 cash taken from their wallet. Someone also took their credit card and used it to make a $55 purchase. Police are investigating, but be alert at the library.

That same day, a home on Pension Hill Road reported a break-in, police said. No items were reported missing from the residence.
