MANALAPAN, NJ - Released by Manalapan police and unedited by Patch, all crimes and arrests from Jan. 19 to 25:
On January 25, 2022, at approximately 9:21 p.m., a 33-year-old Old Bridge resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported being assaulted by an unknown actor while at a Monkton Road residence on January 23, 2022. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident, which is pending the signing of complaints. Patrolman Christopher Schou handled the report.
On Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at approximately 10:16 a.m., a 67-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported that an unknown actor(s) attempted to open a credit card account utilizing the victim’s personal information. There was no monetary loss reported as as result of this incident. Patrolman Kevin Ruditsky handled the report.

On Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at approximately 9:28 a.m., a 57-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported being harassed by a 78-year-old Manalapan resident. No complaints were signed as a result of this incident. Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis handled the report.
On Monday, January 24, 2022, at approximately 9:14 a.m., employees of Millhurst Mills Lumber, located at 17 Sweetmans Lane in Manalapan, reported a smoke condition inside the building, which was subsequently evacuated. Manalapan, Millstone, Monroe, and Freehold Fire Departments responded to extinguish the fire. The Englishtown-Manalapan and Freehold Borough First Aid Squads also responded to assist. The Manalapan Township Fire Bureau, Monmouth County Fire Marshal’s Office, and Manalapan Township Police Department Detective Bureau responded to the scene to investigate the incident, which appeared to be accidental in nature. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis handled the report.

On Sunday, January 23, 2022, at approximately 4:50 p.m., a 60-year-old Manalapan resident reported that a double axle cargo trailer, valued at approximately $7,500.00, was stolen from a storage facility located on Wilson Avenue in Manalapan sometime during the course of the last month. Patrolman Mathew Meyler handled the report, which is pending further investigation.
On Saturday, January 22, 2022, at approximately 5:42 a.m., a 26-year-old Manalapan Township resident reported being assaulted by a 25-year-old Toms River resident after being engaged in a verbal argument at the Wawa Convenience Store, located at 345 Union Hill Road in Manalapan. Minor injuries were sustained as a result of this incident, however, no criminal complaints were
signed. Patrolman Douglas Zike handled the report.
On Saturday, January 22, 2022, at approximately 11:33 p.m., Mariah Vitello, a 25-year-old, unmarried, female resident of Manalapan Township, who is employed as a medical aid, turned herself in at Manalapan Township Police Headquarters regarding a warrant that was issued for her arrest by the Freehold Township Municipal Court in the amount of $500.00. Ms. Vitello was
subsequently processed and released after posting bail. Patrolman Douglas Zike was the arresting officer.
On Saturday, January 22, 2022, at approximately 4:33 p.m., a 38-year-old Manalapan Township resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported that an unknown actor(s) gained access to the victim’s credit cards and made multiple small purchases during the course of the last 4 years. The exact dollar amount of the fraudulent purchases is unknown at this time. Patrolman Christopher Makwinski handled the report.
On Saturday, January 22, 2022, at approximately 2:02 p.m., a 57-year-old Manalapan Township resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported being harassed by a 41-year-old Manalapan Township resident. No complaints were signed as a result of this incident. Patrolman Hayden Hrymack handled the report.
On Saturday, January 22, 2022, at approximately 11:25 a.m., a 50-year-old Manalapan Township resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported that sometime during the overnight hours on January 17, 2022, unknown actor(s) smashed the back window to a vehicle that was parked at a Wood Avenue residence. Patrolman Kyle Earley handled the report, which is pending further investigation.
On Saturday, January 22, 2022, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Patrolman Christopher Olesky took custody of Lance J. Pickett, a 34-year-old, unmarried, male resident of Delaware, unknown employment, who had been arrested by the New Jersey State Police regarding a warrant that was issued for his arrest by the Manalapan Township Municipal Court in the amount of $1,000.00. Mr. Pickett was transported to Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of bail. Patrolman Christopher Oleksy handled the arrest.
On Friday, January 21, 2022, at approximately 9:39 p.m., employees of the CVS Pharmacy, located at 120 Woodward Road in Manalapan, reported that juveniles had damaged a soap dispenser in the restroom. Patrolman Charles Alaimo handled the report.
On Friday, January 21, 2022, at approximately 3:19 p.m., a 44-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported that sometime between January 12, 2022 and January 21, 2022, a red 2014 Red Porsche Cayman valued at $32,000.00 was stolen from a Rowena Road residence. Patrolman Jason Vigneault handled the report, which is pending further investigation.
On Friday January 21, 2022, at 2:48 p.m., a 25-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported that unknown actor(s) gained access to the victim’s social media accounts and attempted to charge $3,500.00. No monetary loss was reported as a result of this incident. Patrolman Jeffrey Emslie handled the report.
On Thursday, January 20, 2022, at approximately 12:57 a.m., Patrolman Guarino conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 33 East for motor vehicle violations. The operator of the vehicle, Deshaun Lewis, a 22-year-old, unmarried, male resident of Howell Township, who is employed as a warehouse associate, was found to have a warrant issued for his arrest by the Howell Township Municipal Court in the amount of $1,500.00. Mr. Deshaun was placed under arrest and transported to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and subsequently turned over to the Howell Township Police Department. Patrolman James Guarino was the arresting officer.
On Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at approximately 2:24 p.m., a 31-year-old Manalapan resident reported that an unknown actor(s) shattered their vehicles windows sometime during the overnight hours of January 17, 2022 into January 18, 2022 while parked at a Lafayette Mills Road residence. Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis handled the report, which is pending further investigation.
On Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at approximately 2:06 p.m., a 64-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported receiving several threatening text messages from an unknown actor(s). Patrolman Jeffrey Emslie handled the report.
On Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at 1:30 a.m., Patrolman Sean McCarthy and Patrolman Dennis O’Brien took custody of Steven Mullings, a 29-year-old, unmarried, unemployed, male resident of Trenton, NJ, who had been arrested by the New Jersey State Police regarding a warrant that was issued for his arrest by the Manalapan Township Municipal Court in the amount of $1,000.00. Mr. Mullings was placed under arrest and transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of bail. Patrolman Sean McCarthy was the
arresting officer.
