Why is a National Political PAC Involved in the Manalapan BOE?
The Board of Eduction should NEVER be based on what side of the aisle one stands on. It should be based on what is best of for the students.
All over Manalapan Board Ed candidate David Ferber signs boldly declare “Kids before Politics.” Up until Mr. Ferber brought politics into the meetings the Board of Ed was scrupulously non-partisan and non-political.
Now Mr. Ferber has sought and accepted guidance and backing from an outside group with a well-known political and evangelical Christian agenda.
ParentalRights.org a National PAC registered in Virginia invited local BOE candidates to a vetting meeting. The group, PYC, offers campaign support based on their vetting criteria. The PYC Facebook page says they are about “Defending Religious Liberty” and “Fight for Christian World Views to be taught.” The PACs NJ director, Victoria Jakelsky welcomed Mr. Ferber to their team and confirmed their support on a Facebook post.
Mr. Ferber accepted support from a group with ties to a National Political Action Committee (PAC)) but none to our town, our kids or our schools? Mr. Ferber’s signs say “Kids before politics” but it is Mr. Ferber that has brought politics and outside groups with specific political interests into our Board of Ed election.
The BOE is supposed to make decisions based on what is best for kids without political influence which is why the BOE is strictly non-partisan. We do not want BOE members that are beholden to PACs and special interests. We want BOE members that are committed to our kids.
