Will gun violence destroy this country?

We certainly seem to be on that path.The Second Amendment is not absolute.
The right to live trumps the Second Amendment.Far too many guns in far too many people's hands that should not have them!!
What the NRA and gun lobby aided and abetted
by Congressman Chris Smith and his ilk do  is stop reasonable control.The tragedy that took place in Santa Barba and others before will continue.No school, no town, no church-nowhere is safe.If you heard the father of one of the students killed at UC Santa Barbara speak, you would have to be made of stone not to be touched.
I have no doubt "gun rights" supporters will disagee with my view-fine-let the public decide.
