Winter is Warmer After a Meal at Simply Southern
This popular Belmar BYO is standing room only during beach season. Don't forget the quality Southern cooking there all year round.
Remembering the wonderful meals we enjoyed at Simply Southern Restaurant this summer, my husband and I returned to the scene of Mom Simmon's amazing culinary expertise to enjoy an array of Southern delights that warmed our souls on the coldest night of the year. Our food was better than I even remembered. My ginger lime salmon was accompanied by a double order of delicious collards with smokey bacon to enhance the flavor. I began with a chopped salad that incorporated southern fruits and nuts. I was in gluten free and calorie controlled heaven. My husband, on the other hand, ordered his usual, chicken and waffles. This dish is his barometer for great southern cooking and he continually tells me that this popular Belmar eatery serves the best. The service was excellent. Mom will always come to the table to make sure you are a satisfied customer and the servers are always guaranteeing you have all that you need to enjoy a fabulous meal.
The restaurant is small and comfortable. The framed shirt of retired Giant, Rasheed Simmons, stands proudly over the counter that accomodates take out and diners in a hurry. The artwork and lighting create an atmosphere of comfort that enhances the meal if you are looking for a dining experience. There is always parking available and the restaurant is easily accessible.
Simply Southern is a restaurant that should not be forgotten as the cold weather looms. The comfort of the delicious food, great service and atmosphere makes the trip so worthwhile. Make a reservation and see for yourself. This estabishment is a jewel, all twelve months of the year.
