51 UFO Sightings In New Jersey In 2018: Find Out Where

A small lightning bolt in Cape May? A fireball in Bay Head? A dark triangle in Morristown?

No, New Jersey is not known as a "UFO" hotspot. But if you listen to the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC), you may feel otherwise.

New Jersey had 51 reported sightings of strange objects in 2018, including repeated strange sightings in Lakewood and Brick, plus reports from Montclair, Fort Lee, Middletown, Berkeley Township and elsewhere.

The most recent sighting reported to NUFORC was Dec. 10 in South Amboy, when one observer saw a bright linear light that quickly disappeared.

"There was an object in the sky flying oddly. I would say it was hovering for a bit before it started zooming around. Very odd," an anonymous observer said when they reported a UFO sighting on Montclair on Nov. 14.

The sitings made their way to a list compiled by the National UFO Reporting Center, an independent organization that's been around since 1974. The group, which has assisted police departments when people report their observations to 911, has put together a list of more than 90,000 sightings around the world.

According to the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC), there is no lack of strange sightings in New Jersey.

New Jersey's weird sightings over the past year included these observations from residents:

1. 12/10/18 8:30 p.m., South Amboy: Bright linear light that quickly disappeared
2. 12/7/18 4:45 p.m., Branchburg: 4 line/oval shaped lights moving slowly towards the west just after sunset.
3. 11/14/18 5:55 a.m., Montclair: Object in the sky flying oddly. I would say it was hover for a bit before it started zooming around. Very odd.
4. 11/11/18 12:15 a.m., Cape May: Small lightening bolt that changed form to a perfect zero with purple flares.
5. 11/4/18 11 p.m., Cherry Hill: Loud boom followed by a shake, leaving an enormous smoke trail, followed by jets flying over.
6. 10/18/18 4:50 p.m., Lakewood: 5 witnesses describe highly-reflective silver UFO's over Lakewood. Mostly hovering in place but also moving slowly.
7. 10/12/18 12 p.m., Old Bridge: I lifted my neck to stretch and there was an object above me.
8. 9/29/18 10 p.m., Browns Mills: Flash of light, followed by 2 white disks.
9. 9/15/18 4:05 p.m., Margate: We saw 4 bright oval lights in the sky in a straight row and then they flew around and moved in different formations. They then changed

11. 9/6/18 8:45 p.m., Rio Grande: Sitting in my backyard, facing South. I saw a white dot approach from southwest direction, straightening out and heading north for a bit.

19. 7/29/18 8:25 p.m., Little Egg Harbor: Above Walmart parking lot. Two bright circles that seemed to be connected just hovering in the sky.
20. 7/19/18 9:20 a.m., Beach Haven: Three red orbs seen off shore LBI.
21. 7/15/18 9 p.m., Bordentown: Aliens n Bordentown
22. 7/7/18 2:36 p.m., Bayonne: High altitude drifting and stopping white dot against blue sky strobes briefly before disappearing from sight.
23. 7/6/18 1:15 a.m., Eagleswood: Blocky cigar shaped craft with bright green light in front, rectangular chunk missing from middle, and tail fins crosses Parkway twice.
24. 7/4/18 10:30 p.m., Middletown: Rectangular craft with white, red, and green lights.
25. 7/2/18 10 a.m., Deptford: Magnificent ultra bright light/shape seen shining 10am in the sky north and to the east of downtown Philadelphia.
26. 6/29/18 3 p.m., Belmar: UFO camouflage with sky folllowed by two fighter jets.
27. 6/25/18 10 p.m., Delran: Sighting of a white, star-like light move across the sky, blink red twice, and disappear
28. 6/17/18 10 p.m., Trenton: Not a satellite, grew to an intensity 100 times more. ((NUFORC Note: Possible flare from an Iridium satellite? PD)) 6/21/18
29. 6/17/18 7 p.m., Emerson: Silver mettalic sphere tumbling/spinning and moving at steady state speed.
30. 6/15/18 12 midnight, Berkeley Township: I got a close look but the object kept disappearing.when I got binoculars it got smaller than a star I did get a view
31. 6/10/18 1:15 a.m., Manahawkin: Witnessed 4 jet fighters in the sky being very very loud. Event lasted around 45 mins. With 2 fighters circling for a half
32. 6/5/18 9 p.m., Lafayette: Cluster of white lights attached by beam to a larger light
33. 6/4/18 9:35 p.m., Trenton: Formation of objects 10 to 12 orange to red colors
34. 6/3/18 4 a.m., Maple Shade: Went outside to have a cigarette. I noticed lights kinda of low in the trees. First two bright lights blinking, then it turned into one
