Arnold James King, Longtime Goodwill Fire Company Member, Dies At 88

A memorial service for lifetime Spring Lake resident will be held in the near future at the firehouse.

Arnold James King, 88, of Spring Lake, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center with his loving family by his side.

He was born and lived in Spring Lake his entire life.

Jim worked at Heights Garage in Spring Lake, Bendix in Eatontown and the Tinton Falls Police Department, where he retired in 1998. He held many positions with the fire company, including chief engineer and his favorite, caretaker of the prize 1930 Seagrave fondly named ”Baby.” He loved attending musters and parades with his Dalmation Daisy by his side.

He also spent a lot of time in Quakertown, PA., enjoying time with his daughter and her family.

Jim was pre-deceased by his parents, Albert and Gladys (Shibla) and brothers Richard and Jay. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Elizabeth; daughter, Donna Osborn and her husband Henry of Quakertown, PA; grandchildren, Dylan and Samantha Osborn; niece Dawn grandchildren, Dylan and Samantha Osborn; niece Dawn Olesen; nephew, Richard King; many grand nieces and nephews and cousins; Russ and Don Brahn and many other friends held a special place in Jim’s
heart.

A private memorial service will be held at Goodwill Fire Company #2 in Spring Lake in the near future.
