Beach Season Extended In Manasquan
An overview of the Manasquan Beach Department's Postseason Initiative has been released.

An overview of the Manasquan Beach Department's Postseason Initiative has been released. Being that the weather is still very desirable in September, the decision was made to extend the season.
Here is what has been set up:
- WEEKDAYS – Three lifeguard chairs will be up at Whiting, Main and Ocean – a fourth will be added at Brielle or Pompano when manpower permits. The idea is to have chairs set up at one of our beach access ramps.
- WEEKENDS – At least four chairs will be up and running at the same locations as weekdays on each of the three post Labor Day weekends. As with weekdays, guard stands will be up at our beach access points and other locations if manpower permits.
- Guards will be on duty daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. If the weather is inclement there will be no guard coverage. The chief lifeguard or his designee will make the determination.
- EMS office will be open each and every day of the pos season from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Beach patrol personnel will be assigned to a quad to assist lifeguards with redirecting beachgoers who enter the water where a lifeguard is not present. Patrons can sit wherever they’d like; however they will be required to enter the water in front of a lifeguard.
- A supervisory member of the lifeguard staff will be on duty daily to ensure assignments and details are carried out.
- Signs will be posted at each beach entrance where lifeguards are not present. Each sign will include the universal "No Swimming " logo. Signs will also have the flag system to define when/where patrons can and cannot swim.
- Red flags will be placed at all unguarded beaches.
- The beach office will not be open during the above time frame – the last day the office is open will be Labor Day.
- No badges are required after Labor Day. Parking in all municipal lots is free of charge.
- Sea Watch parking lot is by permit only through September 30th- an attendant will remain on duties through September 30th
- All restroom facilities will remain open during this time frame.
- Bicycles rollerblades, etc. are permitted on the beach walk after Labor Day
- No dogs are permitted on Manasquan Beach until Saturday, October 1st.
Any all questions can be directed to Beach/Rec Superintendent Erik Ertle at 732-223-0544 extension 452 or email at eertle@manasquan-nj.gov.
