Asbury Park leads the way. Point Pleasant Beach and Belmar were in the top 10. Manasquan was 29th.
For the second straight year, nj.com said, Asbury Park finished at the top of the list of Jersey Shore towns most likely to give you a parking ticket. The city issued more than 30,000 parking tickets over a one-year period, eclipsing last year's total by 1,100.
City Manager Michael Capabianco sought to allay people's fears when he talked to the publication. "We try to make this as easy as possible. There's a parking app on phone," he told nj.com. "We don't want to give tickets. The goal is to get people in and out because it increases retail. It's the cost of doing business these days."
Here is a ranked list of the top 10 towns that give out the most parking tickets, according to nj.com:
- Asbury Park
- Seaside Heights
- Seaside Park
- Bradley Beach
- Wildwood
- Cape May
- North Wildwood
