Belmar Library Hosts Author Talk About Jersey Shore Lifeguards

There are several Belmar lifeguards featured in the book, as well as lifeguards from other Monmouth County beach towns.

BELMAR, NJ — This July 5, Gregory Andrus will give a free talk about his book "Sand, Sea & Rescue — Lifeguards of the Jersey Shore" at the Belmar Public Library.

Andrus wrote the book, and also took the photos.

His book has more than 120 pages of interviews, portraits and audio recordings highlighting the dedication, courage and passion that is the calling of the first responders of the beach: the lifeguard.

The event will be held at Taylor Pavilion, 6 p.m. July 5 with the author speaking about his book and story, autographing copies of his book, light refreshments and an exhibition of lifeguard photos from the book.

All are welcome and invited to this FREE event. Attendees will be able to:

  • Meet Author & Photographer Gregory Andrus
  • View an exhibit of some of the lifeguards from the book.
  • Hear Gregory speak about the book and his story.

  • Meet and mingle with others from the local lifeguard community.
