Body Found At Belmar Beach (UPDATED)

A body was found at the Belmar beach on Saturday, local officials said

The man, who was not identified, was pulled from under the boardwalk in Belmar around 8 a.m., according to Belmar officials.

The man was found between 9th Street and Ocean Avenue and photos of the scene show a body being taken away by police. A portion of the boardwalk was blocked off by police.

The man died of an apparent overdose where Ninth Avenue meets the beach, officials said Authorities are investigating the death.

Police raised a white sheet between two benches on the boardwalk as the county medical examiner investigated the scene, according to Belmar officials.
