Brielle Fire Prompts Home To Be Evacuated: Cops

One person was evacuated in a fire in Brielle this weekend, according to officials.

The fire was in a chimney at a Park Avenue home Monday evening, according to eyewitnesses who reported the blaze on Facebook.

The fire spread to the structure, forcing out the person living there, according to The Asbury Park Press.

The resident tried to put out the chimney fire before firefighters arrived. He failed, Brielle Police Chief Gary J. Olsen told The Press.

The fire was brought under control, according to officials.
