Cardiovascular leaders at Hackensack Meridian Health are planning to expand the heart failure surgery capabilities at Jersey Shore University Medical Center by providing patients with fully implantable devices called LVADs (left ventricular assist device.) This technology is a mechanical pump attached to the heart, helping it pump more blood with less work. For patients with advanced heart failure, a LVAD can offer better quality of life.
“I’m very excited to join the cardiac surgery team at Jersey Shore University Medical Center,” says Dr. Simsir. “The medical center has an impressive cardiovascular program and a great team of experienced surgeons. I look forward to using my experience to collaborate with colleagues and help expand the procedures available through Hackensack Meridian Health.”
