Coastal Monmouth Beach Weather Report For July 26, 2016

Heat wave still hanging on, low rip current risk forecast for today.

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies today with a high temperature around 90 degrees.

Beach winds will be from the northwest at around five miles per hour. The surf will around three feet, with south swells around two feet. The ocean water temperature is 72 degrees. Bring the sunscreen. The UV Index is a 10, which the NWS considers very high.

The rip current risk for today is low. But strong currents can still occur near piers, jetties and other areas, especially during low tide. Swim only in guarded areas and discuss possible surf zone hazards with the lifeguards.

There is no lightning threat today.

Low tide at Belmar was at 6:42 a.m. High tide will roll in at 1:11 p.m., followed by another low tide at 7:31 p.m.
