Coastal Monmouth Beach Weather Report For July 27, 2016

Heat eases slightly, low rip current risk for today.

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid-80s, a nice change from the last few days.

Beach winds will be from the northeast from 7 to 9 miles per hour, switching over to the southeast in the afternoon.

The surf will be around one to two feet, with south swells around two feet. The ocean water temperature is 75 degrees. The rip current risk for today is low, but strong currents can still occur near piers, jetties and other areas, especially during low tide.

Swim only in areas where lifeguards are present and discuss any surf zone hazards with them. There is no lightning threat today.

The UV index is an 8, which the NWS considers very high.

Low tide at Belmar was at 7:44 a.m. High tide will roll in at 2:07 p.m., followed by another low tide at 8:42 p.m.
