Coastal Monmouth County Beach Weather Report For Aug. 17, 2016
Partly sunny skies, higher waves today.

The National Weather Service is calling for partly sunny skies with highs in the upper 80s today.
Beach winds will be from the west at 10 to 15 miles per hour. The lightning threat is low today, which means there's little chance of thunderstorms.
Waves will be three to four feet high with south swells of two to three feet. The ocean water temperature is a balmy 79 degrees.

The rip current risk is low today. But strong currents can still occur near piers, jetties and other areas during low tide. Swim only in guarded areas and discuss any possible surf zone hazards with the lifeguards.
The UV index is a 9, which the NWS considers very high. Don't forget the sunscreen.

High tide at Belmar occurred at 7:04 a.m. Low tide will roll in at 1:07 p.m., followed by another high tide at 7:21 p.m.
