Coastal Monmouth County Beach Weather Report For Aug. 23, 2016
A sunny, but cool day at the beach, with a hint of fall.

National Weather Service is calling for sunny skies with an autumn chill in the air for today.
Summer is on the wane, with the high near 80 degrees. Beach winds will be from the north at 5 miles per hour, switching over to the east in the afternoon.
Don't get used to the cool weather just yet. Friday the high will be 91, so this is just a taste of fall.

Waves will be between two to three feet, with northeast swells around two feet. The water temperature is 75 degrees. The rip current risk is low, but strong rips can still occur near piers, jetties and other areas, especially during low tide.
Swim only in guarded areas and talk to the guards about any surf zone hazards. There is no lightning threat today. The UV index is a 7, which the NWS considers high.

Low tide at Belmar came in at 5:25 a.m. High tide will roll in at 11:55 a.m., followed by another low tide at 6:08 p.m.
