Coastal Monmouth County Beach Weather Report For Aug. 25, 2016

Another beautiful beach day on the way, but watch the rips.

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies today with temperatures in the lower 80s.

Beach winds will be from the southwest at 10 to 15 miles per hour. There is no lightning threat today.

Waves will be around three feet, with southeast swells around two feet. The surf temperature is 75 degrees.

There's a moderate risk of rip currents today, which means wind and or wave conditions can support stronger or more frequent rip currents, especially near piers, jetties and other areas during low tide..

Always have a flotation device with you in the water and swim only in guarded areas. Discuss any possible surf zone hazards with the guards.

The UV index is an 8, which the NWS considers high.

Low tide at Barnegat Inlet was at 8:10 a.m. High tide will roll in at 2:18 p.m., followed by another low tide at 9:10 p.m.
