Coastal Monmouth County Beach Weather Report For Sept. 22, 2016

Nice weather ahead for the first day of fall.

Happy first day of fall!

The National Weather Service is calling for sunny skies with highs in the mid-70s.
Beach winds will be from the east at 10 miles per hour.

Waves will be three feet high with southeast swells at two feet. The ocean water temperature is 73 degrees. There's a moderate risk of rip currents, which means that wind or wave conditions could result in stronger or more frequent currents.

Always have a flotation device with you in the water. Swim only in guarded areas, if you can find one this late in the season and discuss any possible surf zone hazards with the guards. Do not swim in an unguarded area.
Lifeguard coverage in most towns ends after this weekend.

There is no lightning threat today. The UV index is a 6, which the NWS considers high.

Low tide at Belmar arrived at 6 a.m. High tide will roll in at 12:33 p.m., followed by another low tide at 6:59 p.m.
