Coastal Monmouth County Beach Weather Report For Sept. 6, 2016
Remnants of Hermine still linger with pounding surf, rip currents.

The National Weather Service is calling for dangerous, pounding surf and rip currents up and down the Jersey coast.
"These rip currents will be life-threatening to anyone who enters the surf," the NWS says. "Anyone visiting the beaches should stay out of the surf."
Waves will be around eight to nine feet, lower than previous days but still high. Expect northeast swells of five to six feet. The water temperature is 73 degrees, cooler than the last week.

Today will be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and a high of of 80 degrees. Beach winds will be from the north at 20 to 25 miles per hour. There is no lightning threat. The UV index is a 4, which the NWS considers moderate.
High tide at Belmar will arrive at 11:23 a.m. Low tide will arrive at 5:17 p.m., followed by another high tide at 11:36 p.m.
