Dead Pit Bull Stuffed In Suitcase Found Floating In Sunset Lake In Asbury Park
Cause of death still unknown, SPCA official says.

The Monmouth County SPCA is looking for anyone who might know how a young pit bull ended up stuffed inside a nylon Forecast suitcase found floating in Sunset Lake in Asbury Park, according to a report in app.com.
People in the area of the 300 block of Sunset Avenue gathered to watch the fireworks on Monday night found the partially decomposed dog inside a suitcase. They notified Asbury Park police, who then notified Ross Licitra, the Monmouth County Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals chief law enforcement officer and executive director.
The medium-sized dog was estimated to be between a year and a year-and-a-half year old. It was dark brown with some white fur. A necropsy that included X-rays showed no fractures and the cause of the dog's death had not been determined, Licitra said.

The suitcase has been in the water "a little while," he said.
Also found in the suitcase was a Howard University pin, Licitra said.
