Make alternative art? Bring it to the Boatworks at 601 Main St. in Belmar to enter our juried show. Jurors Stacy Smith (Zimmerli Museum) and Alex Goetchius (Art Collector) will select from work in any medium that reflects the worlds of pop surrealism, goth, punk tattoo style, lo-fi, no-fi, or lowbrow.
Works must be original creations by artists over 16 years old, and must be wired or otherwise ready to display. Entry fee is $10 per piece for members, $15 for non-members, with a limit of 3 pieces per artist.
Exhibition to be displayed at The Boatworks from May 12 through June 1, 2012. Opening reception May 12, 5-7:30 p.m.
