Etching onto metal can seem pretty intense at first, but its easy! We can show you the how to in this 2 hour Jewelry making session. You’ll be creating your own unique etched metal jewelry pieces! Join our Jewelry: Etching onto Metal session and leave with a few hand-worked jewelry pieces made by you! Coming to Cowerks this August
We will start the session off with a short demonstration on the process to get you comfortable with metalwork. Then, we play! Create any designs you want. Everything looks great etched into metal! Once you create your design we transfer it onto a piece of copper or brass sheet metal and prepare for the acid bath! While your pieces are being etched we will go over some notable facts about etching and a brief history of the process. The last half of the session will be focused on beautifying your little treasures. We can sand, buff, and shine em’ however you like!
On Thursday, August 2nd, Cowerks, the Asbury Park co-working community, will be hosting a “Jewelry: Etching onto Metal” class. This 2 hours class session will give attendees all the tools they need to create their own etched metal jewelry pieces!

This is a 2 hour session geared towards adults who love DIY projects and are interested in making some easy, memorable jewelry pieces. You will learn all about a unique jewelry making process. This hands on learning session is fun and easy, so I hope to see you there!

Instructor- Tiffany Asraf
Tiffany is a local Jeweler here in Asbury Park who established her independently owned company Salt & Steel. She graduated from Montclair State University with a degree in Art Education and loves teaching people all types of art! She is particularly fond of etching as a jewelry making technique because it is accessible to everyone and people can learn to do it at home! She is friendly and very knowledgeable in DIY metal work techniques so come with questions! She’ll be happy to tell you all about it.
