Gramicionni Finally Confirmed As Monmouth County Prosecutor

It's official.

After four long years as acting Monmouth County Prosecutor, Christopher Gramiccioni has a new title - Monmouth County Prosecutor, according to app.com.

The Senate voted 30 to 4 recently to appoint Gramiccioni to a five-year term. He will be paid $165,000.

His appointment did not come without some controversy.

The New Jersey State Policemen's Benevolent Association objected to Gov. Christie's nomination and criticized Gramiccioni union busting, mismanagement and failure to promote women and minoriites.

Senate President Stephen Sweeney, D-Gloucester, criticized how long it took Gramiccioni's office to review the June 2015 murder of Tamara Wilson-Seidle by her husband, former Neptune police Sgt. Philip Seidle.

The review took over a year.
