Jersey Shore Dream Center Welcomes $5,000 Corporate Sponsorship from WorkWave for 20th Anniversary RunAPalooza

Jersey Shore Relay Marathon, Asbury Park Half Marathon, and Jersey Shore 5K on April 16 will support the center's community outreach

The Jersey Shore Dream Center, a non-profit organization that alleviates poverty, hunger, and addiction in Monmouth County, is proud to announce a $5,000 donation from WorkWave™ (www.workwave.com), a leading provider of cloud-based software solutions for field service management and “last mile” fleet management. WorkWave is sponsoring RunAPalooza, which encompasses three unique races on Saturday, April 16: the Jersey Shore Relay Marathon, Asbury Park Half Marathon, and Jersey Shore 5K.

RunAPalooza, presented by the Jersey Shore Running Club, serves as the largest fundraiser of the year for the Jersey Shore Dream Center. This small non-profit organization was founded in Asbury Park in 2012, in order to “find a need and fill it” among low-income children, families, and senior citizens.

In just four years, the Jersey Shore Dream Center has grown to serve 45,000 individuals a year in Asbury Park, Belmar, Eatontown, Neptune, Ocean Grove, and other Monmouth County communities. Programs include “Adopt-a-Block,” a Baby Supplies Pantry, long-term residences, and a Mobile Food Truck that distributed 72,000 pounds of food in 2015.

According to Isaac Friedel, executive director of the Jersey Shore Dream Center, “We are thrilled that WorkWave has joined the RunAPalooza team as a corporate sponsor. WorkWave’s generous donation of $5,000 makes a huge impact on the Jersey Shore Dream Center, since thousands of Monmouth County residents continue to struggle with poverty, hunger, and hopelessness. The WorkWave sponsorship will assist the Jersey Shore Dream Center tremendously, through our community outreach efforts in Asbury Park and the local community.”

Chris Sullens, President and CEO of WorkWave, recently welcomed the Jersey Shore Dream Center to the WorkWave corporate offices in Neptune. As Sullens explains, “Supporting the community is extremely important to WorkWave. We work with several local organizations, including the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties and the NJ Police Defense Foundation. We also host an annual Hackathon, a 24-hour long event which challenges area developers to create fully functional apps to help those in need.” Sullens continues, “We are proud to be able to support Jersey Shore Dream Center, an organization which does so much for our local community, through the sponsorship of RunAPalooza. Having participated in RunAPalooza personally, I know it will be a well-executed, fun event that aligns well with our focus on employee health and wellness.”

In addition to WorkWave, RunAPalooza sponsors include SOAR Physical Therapy & Acupuncture of Sea Girt, Whole Foods Market Wall, and WoW Work Out World. These RunAPalooza sponsors have made charitable contributions to the Jersey Shore Dream Center.

RunAPalooza proceeds will support the Jersey Shore Dream Center’s residential program in Asbury Park. In 2015, the Jersey Shore Dream Center dedicated its women’s residence to the Jersey Shore Running Club, in recognition of the club’s integral support. Thanks to RunAPalooza, the Jersey Shore Dream Center plans to build an addition onto the women’s residence, construct six town houses for men and veterans, and launch a leadership development program in Asbury Park.

The mission of the Jersey Shore Dream Center is to provide hope to the hopeless, food to the hungry, clothes to the needy, and freedom to those bound by addiction. The Road Runners Club of America has designated the Asbury Park Half Marathon as an Eastern Regional Championship Race. The finish line for all three RunAPalooza races is on the Asbury Park Boardwalk, by Convention Hall. Individual runners have the opportunity to raise funds and awareness for the Jersey Shore Dream Center.
