Jersey Shore Dream Center Welcomes Sponsor, SOAR Physical Therapy & Acupuncture, to 20th Anniversary RunAPalooza on April 16

The Jersey Shore Dream Center is proud to be an official charity beneficiary of RunAPalooza, which will be presented by the Jersey Shore Running Club on Saturday, April 16. RunAPalooza serves as the largest fundraiser of the year for the Jersey Shore Dream Center, a non-profit organization that alleviates poverty, homelessness, and addiction in Asbury Park. The Jersey Shore Dream Center has secured two sponsors for RunAPalooza: WoW Work Out World, with 12 locations in New Jersey, and SOAR Physical Therapy & Acupuncture of Sea Girt.

2016 marks the 20th anniversary of RunAPalooza, which has evolved over the years to include three distinctive events on the same day: the Jersey Shore Relay Marathon, Asbury Park Half Marathon, and Jersey Shore 5K. For the first time, the Road Runners Club of America has designated the Asbury Park Half Marathon as an Eastern Regional Championship Race.

“SOAR Physical Therapy & Acupuncture is very excited to take part in the RunAPalooza 20th anniversary races,” states A.J., Adamczyk, a Nationally Board Certified Acupuncturist with SOAR. “We look forward to using our knowledge of physical therapy and acupuncture to help runners warm up and stretch before and after the races.”

The Asbury Park Half Marathon features a scenic, flat, and fast oceanfront route that encompasses the iconic boardwalks, towns, and historic sites of the Jersey Shore. Typically drawing 2,000 runners, the Asbury Park Half Marathon incorporates a Mayor’s Challenge for the leaders of Jersey Shore municipalities.

Since 1958, the Road Runners Club of America has awarded championship events, through a competitive bidding process, at the National, Regional, and State level. The goal of the Road Runners Club of America Championship Event Series is to shine a spotlight on well-run events and award top performing runners in the open, masters (40+), grand masters (50+), and senior grand masters (60+) categories, for both men and women. The Jersey Shore Dream Center applauds the Jersey Shore Running Club for achieving the distinction of Eastern Regional Championship Race for the Asbury Park Half Marathon.

According to Isaac Friedel, executive director of the Jersey Shore Dream Center, “We’re thrilled that RunAPalooza and the Asbury Park Half Marathon, in particular, are being recognized by the Road Runners Club of America. Through the years, the Jersey Shore Dream Center has been honored to support the Jersey Shore Running Club. We see how hard these volunteers work to organize the outstanding Jersey Shore Relay Marathon, Asbury Park Half Marathon, and Jersey Shore 5K.

“RunAPalooza race day is an amazing experience in Asbury Park,” Friedel continues. “The Jersey Shore Dream Center is so thankful that the Jersey Shore Running Club continues to invest in our community outreach programs through RunAPalooza.”

In support of the Jersey Shore Dream Center, WoW Work Out World also is a sponsor of the 20th anniversary RunAPalooza. According to Mary Roma, founder of WoW Work Out World, “Some things are just meant to be. The opportunity for WoW Work Out World to sponsor RunAPalooza, the Jersey Shore’s premiere running event, is a natural fit, as WoW is New Jersey’s premiere chain of family owned and operated fitness clubs.

The mission of the Jersey Shore Dream Center is to provide hope to the hopeless, food to the hungry, clothes to the needy, and freedom to those bound by addiction. Current programs in Asbury Park include “Adopt-a-Block,” a baby supplies pantry, and a mobile food truck. The Jersey Shore Dream Center also operates an Asbury Park residence for women who have struggled with abuse, addiction, and depression.

RunAPalooza proceeds, as well as the sponsorships from SOAR Physical Therapy & Acupuncture and WoW Work Out World, will enable the Jersey Shore Dream Center to continue expanding its residential program. The Jersey Shore Dream Center plans to build an addition onto its existing residence, in order to double the capacity for its women’s program. Moving forward, the Jersey Shore Dream Center also plans to construct six town houses in Asbury Park for men’s and veterans’ residences as well as a leadership development program.
