John Michaelides, 81, of Belmar passed away on January 12.
Born in New York City to the late Nicholas and Elizabeth Michaelides, he resided in New York, and Palisades Park before retiring to Belmar. John enlisted in the National Guard serving his country, after his discharged he attended N.Y.U. and Pace University where he received his bachelors degree in accounting.

He worked as an accountant and established his firm, John Michaelides Accounting, serving clients for over 40 years. During his retirement he loved the beach and also worked as beach badge attendant on 3rd Avenue in Belmar. John was an avid New York sports fan, and enjoyed playing sports mostly handball, softball, bowling, cards and trips to Atlantic City.
He was predeceased by his brother, James Michaelides.
He is survived by his wife, Anastasia Michaelides of Belmar, daughters, Elise Rogers and husband Lee of Wall Township, Andrea Hellinghausen and husband William of Brick, four grandchildren, Anastasia Jackson and husband Keith, Amanda Shroyer and husband Brian, Nicholas and Alexandra Hellinghausen, and two great-grandchildren, Ryan Jackson, and Bryce Shroyer.
Family and friends are invited to gather from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Oceanside Memorial Home, 2014 Main Street, Lake Como. A funeral mass will be offered at 11 a.m. on Friday at St. George Greek Orthodox Church 1033 West Park Ave, Ocean NJ. on Friday, followed by interment in St. George Greek Orthodox Cemetery, Neptune. In lieu of flowers donations in John’s name may be made to St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Shrine via https://www.stnicholaswtc.org/donate and/or St. Michael Home for the Aged, 3 Lehman Terrace, Yonkers, NY 10705
