LADACIN Network's Annual Plunge
Join LADACIN for an icy dip in the Atlantic to benefit individuals with disabities

LADACIN Network, a local nonprofit, prepares to welcome in the new year with a return to the LADACIN Plunge! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they had to take a year off from their traditional event and host a virtual Plunge. This year the Agency is planning to have plunging participants once again brave the icy water temperatures and jump into the Atlantic Ocean at Manasquan Main Beach to benefit LADACIN on January 15th.
The event will support LADACIN’s educational, therapeutic, social, residential and support services for over 3,500 infants, children and adults with complex physical and developmental disabilities or delays living in Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
All proceeds from the event support the J. Michael Hartnett Memorial to benefit LADACIN Network. Since the Inaugural Plunge 13 years ago, the annual Plunge has reached a milestone by raising over one million dollars. Over the past several years, the proceeds have helped fund adult programs; occupational, physical and speech therapies; and critical repairs and improvements in our residences.

Joseph J. Russell, Jr., Esq., of Manasquan, Shareholder and Chair of the Family Law Department at Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer P. A., Eatontown, and Woodbridge, founded and continues to coordinate the event. His cousin, Elizabeth “Liz” Hartnett, is a client of LADACIN Network, and has inspired his involvement in supporting the Agency. Liz’s father, J. Michael Hartnett, was a long-time Agency Board member and advocate for people with disabilities.
Pre-registration is strongly encouraged online and on-site registration will begin at Leggett’s Sand Bar & Restaurant in Manasquan at 10:30 am on January 15th. At 12:30 pm, participants will plunge into the Atlantic Ocean. There will be a 50/50 raffle and prizes will be awarded to the top three individuals/teams who display the most creative costumes. Virtual plunging is still an option this year, so be sure to take a picture of your virtual plunge and send to communityrelations@ladacin.org.
